What equipment will I need?
All the walks require participants to wear suitable footware: boots, wellies, stout walking shoes or trainers designed for walking. Paths can be muddy and stony so light weight trainers won't be suitable.
You should carry a rucksack which should contain
- A waterproof jacket and overtrousers
- A fleece or similar light weight but warm jacket
- For winter: warm and preferably windproof hat and gloves (or mitts)
- For summer: a sunhat and suncream (essential). some walkers also carry insect repellant
- Sufficient food and drink for the duration of the walk. There are rarely opportunities to buy food during the walk.
- In hot weather you should carry adequate supplies of water.
- A small First Aid Kit usually containing elastoplasts, antiseptic cream, tweezers, paracetemol, scissors, anti diarrhoea medicine, sun cream and any other medication you require.
- Emergency contact detail. You will be giiven a form to complete and carry in your rucksack, to be accessed only in an emergency.
Many walkers like to change footware at the end of the walk. This can be left on the coach. note that all items left on the coach at at the owners risk.
